Taste your words before you speak them out.

tame3Sometimes when we become so accustomed to someone, (that is we are very close to the person), we become less conscious of how we talk to them and how we treat them. The person in this case may be your best friend, sister, brother, uncle, course mate and so on BUT the truth still remains that our relationship with them may have changed i.e. we are more mutual but they have not changed. They are still human. They have feelings and may get angry sometimes like every other human being.

Don’t, because you are so close to someone, use bad languages on them like “You are mad”, “You are of no use”, “You are annoying” and so on. Don’t, because you are so close to someone, treat them as if they are Nobodies by cheating them, bullying them, using them and insulting them. They may smile or laugh off your actions but like a bee-sting hurts so also do your words and actions hurt!

Be Jovial with them but don’t let your words and actions hurt them! Be sincere with them and correct them with Love. I am writing about this topic because this is the most reason why relationships between friends, sisters, families, classmates and so on are broken. You may think you are playing with them, just having fun with words but you are indirectly hurting them. The world paints it that using cuss words on somebody else are cool and okay, so people go around cussing every situation, everything and every person they meet, and do not see any wrong in cursing their loved ones! Try as much as possible not to base your lifestyle on what the Society teaches but on what the Bible teaches you.

I WAS READING my Bible about a couple of weeks ago while I was in the bus when I came across a verse in Exodus where God used “PLEASE” while addressing Moses on the Holy Land. I was like “WOW!”, God used PLEASE to address a man He created. God, the creator of Heaven and Earth- the greatest there is, is so POLITE in his speech.

“6 Then Jehovah said to him once more: “Stick your hand, please, into the upper fold of your garment.” So he stuck his hand into the upper fold of his garment. When he drew it out, why, here his hand was stricken with leprosy like snow” [Exodus 4:6]

And then I thought to myself “If God, the beginning and the End could use “Please” in His speech and be so respectful in His manner of Speech, why can’t we be mannerly to humans like us that we didn’t create? Who are we that we speak and insult another God- created Handiwork?

As Christians, we should not be rude and the words which come out of our mouth shouldn’t be words of curses but WORDS OF BLESSINGS. God created the whole universe with Words from His mouth and we are created in His image meaning “OUR TONGUE IS SO POWERFUL AND CAN DO GREAT THINGS” so let us not waste the efficiency of our tongue by saying negative things which bring no positive effect.

ALWAYS REMEMBER, You can be a blessing to someone even by the words you speak to them. Sow a seed of Blessing in someone’s life by saying BLESSED WORDS!! Like Ike Amadi said today, “SPEAK LIFE” Let us Speak Life daily because you don’t know whose life may be revived by your Words!!

Ephesians 4:29 – Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
