#65me. 3 Fresh thoughts from The Book of Matthew!

Inspired by @TestifyTruth, who blogs about the Round the Word (#RTW) in 365 days, I decided I should do a little blogging on the #65me program. (By the way, follow that handle. Steady Fresh posts therefrom!)
Today, reading through Matthew 26 – a very long chapter – I discovered that Peter was not very different from Judas.
In the same chapter, Peter and Judas were told their fates. One was to betray Jesus; the other was to deny Him. They both acted out their scripts. They both felt remorse for what they had done. The only difference is that Peter repented while Judas went and hanged himself.
No matter how far we have gone into sin, or how many times we have denied Jesus, we can still repent and do great things for God just like Peter later did.
In Matthew 27:18, we see Pilate an unreligious man know that they had arrested Jesus out of envy. Thus, we must not betray our brothers in Christ to the world. If we must correct them, let us do it in secret, not in the full glare of the world. I have been guilty of this. I repent!
Also, in verse 54 of Matthew 27, the soldiers attested that, “This man truly was the Son of God.”
What will be the world’s final assessment of you?
Jesus died for us, resurrected and gave us the great commission to go into the entire world and preach the gospel.
My soul, how effective have you been at this commission?
