Do Something 7.1: Lessons from the Gym.

The year 2012 has barely started.

This year, I decided not to make any resolutions. I have a few goals I will however love to achieve.
Going to the gym was in no way part of my fresh year resolutions. Today, however, on my way to the bathroom to go have my bath, I stopped by the gym to see what was happening. It had been a while since I was there. While I was there, I did a few stretches and watched the other guys as they did their stuff. I noticed that they now had bigger muscles than they had three to four months ago. I was impressed.

I sat on one of the benches and tried lifting the weight one of the guys had just finished lifting. I couldn’t. I screamed and screamed, but I still couldn’t. 

I however discovered that if I trained as often as they did and put in as much dedication as they put in, in three to four months I’ll equally be as big as they are. That lifted my spirit and I immediately knew what to do if I was to have the same size of muscles as they have and will be able to lift the same weights I couldn’t lift today.

The same applies to other areas of our lives. Do you desire to have bigger spiritual, material, academic or financial muscles — whatever you want to achieve — you can achieve, but you’ve got to start from somewhere. You’ve got to take that first step. You might not get there in one day, but with patience, perseverance and dedication, you will get there.

So my friends, what are we waiting for? Let’s start today! Let’s Do Something!
