#dsmentor: Learning and earning

The difference between learning and earning is not much. But you must be able to tell the difference. You must be able to know when to learn and when to earn. There are projects you only will learn from and earn nothing from accomplishing them. There are also projects you will majorly earn from and probably learn a thing or two from them as well.

In dealing with people that try to make use of your gift, you must decipher whether it is a person to learn from or earn from. If you think there is a lot to learn from that person, don’t short change yourself by choosing the earning instead of the lesson, the cash, instead of the wisdom. You see, wisdom will make you more money in the future, but you must sow your time, money, and energy in the quest for wisdom.

Oftentimes you may be used. A lot of young men these days are afraid of being used. They feel bad when people make use of their skill or energy without compensating them accordingly. They however forget that if you are not used, you’ll be rusty. Usage shows presence of value. Open up yourself to be used and gain the experience and wisdom therefrom.

Don’t forget that, there are people you’ll learn from, and there are those you’ll earn from. Don’t mix the two up, please.

Yay!
