HOW IS YOUR FAITH?
“Without faith it is impossible to please God”, Why does the bible repeatedly say “The just shall live by (his) faith?” These and similar thoughts raced through my mind. Then, I decided to find out this faith thing myself.Armed with my Bible, Faith materials and an open heart; I set out on my expedition to the land of faith. Some of the discoveries that welcomed me were alien to the deep-seated religious beliefs I’ve always had. Yes, but I had to accept them if I must experience Victory all of life.
I’m still on my journey of faith and will still be till Jesus comes. However, I want to share out of my little learning with you, my friend. In the hope that you get blessed and make a decision for faith today.
1. Faith entails acting your belief and defining your hope.
It is not enough to just belief in the Almighty God; you have to do something about that belief. During Jesus’ earthly life, everywhere he commended faith, was as a result of an action. Hope says ‘someday, it will be better’ ‘God will smile on me’. Hope just keeps you alive, but doesn’t deliver your goods to you. Rise up today, and define clearly what you want and go for it as God inspires.
2. Mark 11: 23-24….
Please take a very detailed look at this Scripture as it forms an important foundation for faith.
Whatsoever thing you desire means just anything you want. God will not desire for you neither will I. When you pray, so remember to pray about it (that is action). Believe that you receive them and you shall have them, herein lies the challenge. You believe your prayer is answered when you say it, not later or when the result comes. Remember, faith is always in the present, not in the past or future.
3. Confess your answer.
If I believe I was answered when I prayed, then what should I do while waiting for my answer? Simple, begin to confess your answer (I believe I received ____ when I prayed, so I thank you Lord for it). Nonsense, you may say but we’re talking faith here not sense. Some of the benefits of confession include: you hear the words of faith (Rom 10:17), the angels receive marching orders from you and contending forces are also being threatened. Even the medics say, the Speech nerve controls every other nerve in the human body.
4. Faith is the language God understands.
Yes, emotions, begging, throwing of tantrums does not work with God. It may have worked with your mom, but not God. Repeatedly praying for a particular thing as pious as it seems, may sometimes communicate a lack of faith. Take for example, you ask me for a Pen. I tell you ‘here is it’ or receive it’. Is it nice to still ask me for the same pen tomorrow? Lets be like Abraham, he glorified God even before the physical manifestation of the promise Rom. 4
5. Faith is not Denial.
Faith does not deny the negatives neither does it pay attention to the negatives. Ignore! Ignore it!! You have a choice not to react to the unpleasant circumstances but respond from the word of God. Let the word of God be the determinant of your actions because it’s the evidence that you would have what you hope for (Heb 11:1).
6. Get the Rhema for your situation.
The Bible is the written or said Word of God (Logos), daily God is still saying or wants to say something to you (Rhema). That part of the bible that the Holy Spirit quickens in your heart and keeps putting to your remembrance is the Rhema. That is what you need to hold on to. So, the next time you open your bible, ask God to speak to you from His word..
I would like to acknowledge the apostles of faith sent to this generation; Fredrick KC Price, Kenneth Hagin and many others. They have helped to hasten our journey of faith; we don’t need to reinvent the wheels.
Steadfastly fight the good fight of faith (Rom. 12:3); it is good because you have Heaven’s backing (Lk 22:31, 32). I know when the master Jesus Christ returns, he will find faith on the earth.
