This post needs no advert. For men and women will readily read anything with the tag line, ‘LOVE.’ How strong that word is, strong enough to make a king act like a mere man, and a common man think himself a king.
Love. Little we will understand about love. I do not claim to have understood love fully, I will only daily give myself away to love and be loved, and through those experiences gain more understanding on the concept of love.
But much as love is needed for life and living, I have found something stronger than love – purpose! Yes, purpose.
Very few people know what it means to ‘be in love.’ Fewer understand what it means to say, ‘I love you.’ But everyone understands when something keeps attracting them to someone, and how that every time they are together with that special one, they come alive, new possibilities are born, and the king in them shows forth.
When a woman of purpose meets a man of purpose, she becomes more beautiful than she ever was, stronger than she knew herself to be, and sees the world as a stage for her play. Purpose unites, purpose attacts, purpose renews.
Since purpose cannot be changed, once you enter a relationship with a person with whom you have the same purpose in life, you have no fear of divorce, nor of the relationship growing cold.
You can start from the greater purpose of our lives: to bring glory to God while on earth, and to be about our Father’s business. Once your purpose and her purpose converge in this, that’s a clear plus. Observe how I do not use the word, ‘Christian.’ Everyone can claim to be Christian, but by their fruits you shall know them.
Next is the unique purpose of existence on earth. What you were born to do. Once your purpose also converge on this, boy! you’ve got yourself a jackpot marriage. Shows she’ll understand how you think, he’ll understand why you do what you do. No fights, all focus, all excitement, as you have a ready helper for your life’s ministry. Haha! Reminds me of men who go out with their secretaries – obviously because they spend the greater part of their day together, solving problems, bringing ideas, sorting out things. Now imagine if you did that with your wife, how much stronger the union will be.
Yes, love takes a lot of pages. But we’ll stop here. Whatever you do, marry on purpose. As a #dosomethingperson, your thoughts, words, and actions need not be wasted in trying to always explain your reason for doing what you do. You need someone who feels your heartbeat and can connect with your purpose without the use of words. That, my dear, is your partner.
Finally, I think love and purpose are somehow connected. I think purpose comes before love. I mean, purpose breeds love. Or purpose is the breeding ground of love. Hmm.
