A story was told about a little boy who, thinking he was clever, came up to a wise old man with a butterfly in his hand.
‘What sayest thou?
He put the butterfly in his palm, covered it, and asked the wise old man if the butterfly was alive or dead.
‘If the old man says the butterfly is alive, I will kill it. If he says it is dead, I will let it fly.’ The little boy purposed in his heart.
When he got to the old man, he asked him,
‘ I have a butterfly in my hand. Is it alive or dead? What sayest thou?’
The old man laughed and said, ‘it is in your hands to make the butterfly alive or dead.’
So it is with our lives, my dear readers.
It is in our hands to make it or not to.
It is in our hands to lead a corruption-free life.
It is in our hands to choose to walk before God and be perfect.
It is in our hands to choose to abstain from anything that will mar our vision and purpose in life.
It is in our hands to pick up the materials we need, devour them and become a success.
It is in our hands to be chaste.
It is in our hands to pursue our dreams the best way we know how.
It is in our hands to build the country of our dreams.
It is in our hands ….
