Hello there, hope you doing well. Remember the self-examination we started yesterday? How was it? Hope by now you’ve seen areas where you must get serious. Now I’d like us to continue the test from where we left off yesterday, shall we?
#9: Do you love the Truth?
2Thes 2:10: And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
True believers ought to love the Truth after all, He is the Truth. Do you dislike theology? Do you really, sincerely care to know what God thinks about you and what you do?
#10: The Necessity of being Childlike
Matt 18:3: And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
This in other words means that you have a trusting faith. You believe all the “Jonah and the whale stories” and the “red sea parting” and other Bible stuff like that. This is because you know God to be Omnipotent and beyond your reasoning.
#11: The Necessity to bridle the Tongue
James 1:26: If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
Do you have control over your tongue? Or is it just simply out of control and on the loose? If you are powerless over the rule of your tongue, then I think there’s cause for concern.
#12: Do you Persevere?
Mark 13:13: And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
You know you a Christian when you are able to endure in the face of persecution for your faith. What’s your attitude when people scorn you for obeying Jesus?
#13: The Necessity of walking in the Light
1 John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If you are a believer you ought to walk in the light because Jesus is that light. Darkness no longer clouds your way because you now live in the Truth.
#14: The Necessity of Repentance
Luke 5:32: “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Every day, as God confronts us with our sins we are continually repenting and turning away from them. It’s not just that first time you began trusting Jesus alone but every time. We do that because we are saved else it would be totally unnecessary.
#15: The Necessity of Warfare Vigilance
2 Tim 4:7: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
When we are Christians, we are constantly fighting against the flesh, against the devil, against the world system basically because they all are the enemies of God.
So, there you go. Hopefully, now you can tell how you’re doing as a Christian and if you are still having doubts, my friend, it’s never too late to get right with God and He will give you that assurance you so desire.
Hope you’ve been blessed? If you have, then stay that way !!
Have a blissful week !!
