Genesis 29: Only A Few days:
“Now Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her.”
When you have a goal, something or someone you are passionate about, don’t be afraid to labor for them, for the labors will seem only like a few days.
As you and I labor in the Word these 187 special anointed days, they will seem like a few days!
Have a dream, work at it, and see your dream come to pass.
Notice also that he waited to complete the 7 years before asking to lie with Rachel. Young men and women, courtship is not marriage! Wait till you have gotten the blessing and then you can lie with her all you want.
Genesis 30: God Will Remember You:
“Then God remembered Rachel…and opened her womb.” Rachel was not barren for one day, or one year. Leah had already given birth to six sons! Even at that, God still remembered Rachel.
No matter what it appears you have gone through, or how long that barrenness of life or talent seems, God will remember you!
More so, we see that Jacob in verse 30 wanted to ‘do something’ for his own household. Wise man! I too will do something!
Genesis 31: Who Has Hidden gods?
Jacob did not leave Laban on his own. The Lord said to Jacob, “Go back to the land of your fathers,..and I will be with you.” Interesting that his wives replied, “Do whatever God has told you.” As wives, we must always strive to follow our husbands’ directions, especially when the instruction is from the Lord!
Secondly, “Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen the gods.” This is for us men of the house, fathers. Is there someone you have been bragging about, saying how much you trust them, not knowing that they are still attached to their old gods, their old ways?
Genesis 32: Until You Bless Me
There is a song that says, “I will never let you go unless you bless me (2x)” Perhaps we need to sing that song more to remind us of the need for a blessing. When Jacob saw God face to face, he didn’t cry about Esau his brother, he wanted a blessing!
