Several of us don’t even know what we mean when we say, I love you. For us it ends with the word “love.” No commitment, no sacrifice, no fellowship.
The past 10 days have been very interesting as I have have had to dig deeper into the question of love. That has made me listen to every advice regarding the matter. One good advice I heard your men is that when you’re humble and truly love your wife, she respects and loves you back. Another one which I’ll share below was given to a young man about to get married by his pastor uncle:
“Love is never about what you get. Love is about what you give. When you love, you give up something. You don’t lose in love, you win. Love is not a lost battle to say, I had to give up this and that. He won. No! Love is the victory! We rejoice for what we are able to give up to truly prove our love.”
The component of sacrifice reminded me of a sermon in church where our Pastor John challenged us to prove our love to God through our sacrifice, purity, and fellowship.
So dear friend, how is your love life?
