Many people have told me, “Ike, choose a wife now that you are not yet very wealthy.” Their reason is that I might find it difficult getting a lady who will love me for who I am once I have finally and fully made it. I didn’t think it was really important until today.
Well, I had an interesting experience that made me question whether it was who I am that fueled a particular friendship or what I have. Apparently, the latter was more obvious.
David must have been in that same position when he penned down the 57th Psalm, but then he realized there was one he could trust, the Lord who made the heaven and earth.
“My soul is among lions;
I lie among the sons of men
Who are set on fire,
Whose teeth are spears and arrows,
And their tongue a sharp sword.” Psalm 57:4
“My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise.” Psalm 57:7
May our heart be steadfast trusting in God in Jesus name.
