Are You Hungry? by John G Lake

If you’ve never read a John G Lake sermon then who have you been reading?

These are excerpts from a sermon of his, Spiritual Hunger. Where errors exist, please accept them as mine.

Be hungry!

You have to watch out for people when they are hungry. Hunger is a mighty good thing.

Matt 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

You have to watch out for people when they are hungry. Hunger is a mighty good thing.

There is nothing more wonderful than the indwelling of God in a human life.

When you are hungry, and cry to God, God’s purposes come to pass in your life.
They don’t just happen.

When that thing you desire become your first thing, not the second, third or tenth, it will surely come to pass.

Your soul ought to come to a place where you have vomited dependence on man.

Only God can get down into the depth of man’s nature, find the real difficulty that is there and destroy it.

Are you praying to get hungry, @foluwa?

Things taste mighty good to a hungry man.

There are better things to be had in spiritual life, but they must be sought out in faith and prayer.

What are you hungering for? If you have a real divine hunger, something your heart is asking for, God will answer.

“When the supreme desire of your heart is known to God, that all the spiritual energy of your nature and the powers of God given to you begin to concentrate and work along that certain line and form, and there comes by the unconscious creative exercise of faith into being that our soul calls for. That is the creative action of faith, you and God together, evidencing the power of creative desire.”

Those who humble themselves and hunger shall surely be strengthened. Bless God.

You and the reigning glorified Christ as one, are the divine manifestation of God.

Come up to the throne, dear ones. Let the throne life, and the throne love and the throne power and the Holy Ghost in heaven possess you, and you will be a new man in Christ Jesus!

Your tread will be the march of the conqueror and your song the song of victory, your crown the crown of glory, and your power the power of God.

Brethren, pray to be hungry.
