You know this deal you wish you had, then suddenly you get it? I got one of those.
I have always loved to write. I write everywhere: on the dining table over dinner, behind the wheels while driving – I keep a book and pen on my dashboard, just in case inspiration comes. I have always sought opportunities to tell a story that inspires. So it is with pleasure that I receive feedback like, ‘I read your book. I loved it.’. They keep me going.Recently, a publisher gave me a book deal. All I needed to do was write. “Wow!”, I thought at first, until I found it so difficult to scramble out time for to write. Difficult!
To prepare my mind, he gave me some book samples. Today, I finally had time to read them. While reading one of them, I observed that it had a very good plot, but I found myself correcting a lot of errors. Funny thing was that if the only thing I did was correct the errors, I have done nothing. He, the writer, has done more for the world by writing a complete book, than me who simply sat down and corrected his errors.
I saw that if I am to gift the world with better stories, stories that will not only pleasure my young readers but give them a more wonderful view of life whilst expanding their horizon in the process, I must find time to write!
I have begun, therefore I will finish.
I’ll do something!
