Do Something Significant: 3 Practical Steps to Have Clarity of Vision

In our earlier post, we saw the importance of clarity of vision.

But how do we get revelation or clarity?

It is very simple, yet we should not be deceived by its simplicity. Just because it is simple for the user does not mean it is simple for the designer. The complexity of how God does what he does it not our business. Our user experience has been simplified by the price that Jesus paid.

  1. By the Word of God.
    And the
Lord continued to appear in Shiloh, for the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord. 1 Sam 3:21

The easiest way that God begins to reveal his plan for you is through His word of God. You must have a systematic approach to reading your Bible. Don’t just go to the Psalms because you want to get inspiration. Read your Bible systematically.

All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage] 2 Timothy 3:16

No matter what part of the Bible you are reading, God can speak to you.

Also by hearing the word as it is being preached.

  1. By the voice of the Holy Spirit (Acts 13:1-3)

Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets [who spoke a new message of God to the people] and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called [a]Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with [b]Herod [Antipas] the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul (Paul) for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying, they laid their hands on them [in approval and dedication] and sent them away [on their first journey].

Through worship, praise, and fasting, the Holy Spirit spoke. There were other people in the place, but he only called 2 people.
There are certain things that God wants you to start but they are not explicitly written in the word of God, you get to know by the voice of the spirit.
The voice of the spirit doesn’t have to be audible. You get it in your spirit.

The [a]spirit (conscience) of man is the lamp of the Lord,
Searching and examining all the innermost parts of his being.
Proverbs 20:27

It is not the mind of the man, but the spirit of the man. God speaks to your spirit because God is a spirit. You can hear this voice down deep within your own spirit. “It came into his heart.”

You feel a revelation, a burden you cannot shake off easily.

  1. By seeking counsel from proven spiritual leaders.
    Godly leaders. The spirit is the spirit of counsel;
Then a Shoot (the Messiah) will spring from the stock of Jesse [David’s father],
And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.

And the Spirit of theLord will rest on Him—
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and strength,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the Lord—
    Isaiah 11:1-2

Also he has set people within the body (Eph 4:11) under the chief shepherd himself who is Christ Jesus. When we seek counsel, they can guide us because they have the spirit of God in them, they have experience in their lives, and they also have anointing as a result of the office they occupy. However, whatever counsel you get, if it is not in line with the word of God, please reject it (Isaiah 8:20). Also before you seek counsel from anyone, we must beware of false prophets (Matt 7:14-18).
